This position manages and leads a team of professionals in support of the sales force and corporate initiatives. FedEx Freight is seeking a passionate and results-oriented Manager, Sales Education to lead the strategy, design, development, delivery, and measurement of all sales training and education programs. This critical leadership role is responsible for architecting and executing learning initiatives that equip our sales organization with the essential knowledge, skills, and competencies required to excel in their roles and drive business results. You will play a pivotal part in enhancing sales effectiveness, productivity, and overall performance by overseeing the entire learning lifecycle for our sales teams - from new hire onboarding to continuous professional development. This includes programs focused on product knowledge, industry insights, sales methodologies, sales processes, and effective use of sales technologies. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep expertise in adult learning principles and instructional design, possessing strong leadership capabilities and the ability to collaborate effectively with Sales Leadership, Product Marketing, Sales Operations, Sales Technology, and other key stakeholders to build and sustain a world-class sales education function.

Essential Functions

  • Participates in strategic planning, analysis, process/project management development, and sales enablement education.
  • Creates and implements customer solutions and/or corporate initiatives using the complete family of company products and technologies available.
  • Develops professionals while creating an effective organization in support of company goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive sales training programs covering product knowledge (FedEx Freight services), sales processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Create engaging and effective training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, videos, job aids, and other resources, utilizing instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies.
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and areas for improvement within the sales organization, collaborating with sales leadership to align training with strategic goals.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions through various modalities, including in-person workshops, virtual training, and blended learning approaches.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, performance data analysis, and assessments, and implement continuous improvements to enhance learning outcomes and business impact.
  • Manage the logistics of training programs, including scheduling, communication, and resource allocation.
  • Stay current with the latest trends in sales training methodologies, learning technologies, and the transportation and logistics industry.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Sales Education Specialists and Facilitators as the team grows.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Legal, and other internal stakeholders to ensure training content is accurate and up to date.

Skills:

  • Familiarity with FedEx Freight's services, processes, and culture.
  • Experience with CRM and Enablement platforms, preferably Salesforce and HighSpot.
  • Knowledge of e-learning authoring tools.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience in developing multimedia training content (videos, interactive modules).
  • Prior experience in a sales role within the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Team leadership or management experience.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree/equivalent.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years professional business experience in project management, sales, education, communications, or quantitative analysis. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proven leadership experience.

Strong human relations, negotiating, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Excellent analytical and process/project management skills.

Ability to innovate and produce high quality results on a consistent basis.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: US Pay Range $9,208.38/month - $16,575.08/month. (E29)

Additional Details: The desired location is Memphis, TN, however, this position may be located anywhere within the US excluding AK, HI and US territories.Depending on your location, you may be required to work at a FedEx Campus location several times per week.
