Job Description:
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Transport Specialist to join our Transport team in Mobile, Alabama. You will be part of a team that manages General Cargo Transport operations worldwide (Airbus aircraft sections and material). Within the Transport team you will be supporting transport projects and operations aiming at implementing new transport solutions (transport concept, packaging, transport tools, etc.) to support the development and maturity of the Airbus Americas transport community (4PL & 3PL models). You will integrate, develop synergies, and harmonize processes between all Airbus entities and vendors in the Americas operational perimeter. You will ensure the transport activity operations and performance meet the internal customer requirements. You will be part of the Transport representative team within Airbus Americas acting with the overall Airbus worldwide transport network. Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
Support Transport related Projects:
Support projects related to General Cargo transportation Support the implementation of Airbus Transport projects in the Americas and associated work specifications in line with local requirements Support the integration of Airbus vendors (including Sparrow project) and deploy TAPPS Define/develop and implement solutions for transporting aircraft components within the Airbus Transport network, in compliance with the Airbus project management process (LBIP methodology - Leaner Business Improvement Projects) Creation of Transport Specifications in order to meet internal customers requirements Capture new needs through contractual Change Requests Develop efficient air, sea, road, train flows considering CO2 emission goals Ensure Customs Compliance Interact and influence aircraft components transportation solutions, in line with the Transport community vision Preparation of business cases to support various project objectives Support local sourcing and develop CAPEX/OPEX budgetary project plans/goals
Support Operations:
Support operations and shipping process Monitor service levels and performance reporting via various KPIs Report and manage transport contractual deviations though complaints and claims Manage risk and implement mitigation strategies Ensure adherence to budget and monitor spending Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements (Skills needed):
Minimum 5-10 years experience working within the community of Supply Chain and Logistics Strong Project Management Experience Sound working knowledge of health, safety and environmental Strong knowledge and experience in transport & supply chain management
Experience in methods of producing and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Strong analytical skills Excellent communication skills (spoken, written, influential) Travel may be required to different Airbus & vendor's sites
Nice to have:
Contractual / legal awareness Experience in implementation of service level agreements Knowledge of common applications such as SAP/R3 (Module PP/PM) Experience managing an external service provider
Education/Special Qualifications (schooling, certifications): Bachelor's degree and/or a combination of work experience in Business or Supply Chain and Logistics. Desirable courses or training:
Project Management - PMP preferred Quality techniques, management Environmental protection in accordance with ISO 14001 Six-Sigma-methodology Corporate presentation skills Occupational health and safety regulations

Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings. Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information. Travel: able to travel domestically and internationally for short periods.
