Job Description: Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Communications Content Coordinator (Contract) to join our Communications department based in Herndon, VA. In this role, you'll support the execution of Airbus's internal content strategy across multiple channels, helping to ensure consistent, engaging, and brand-aligned messaging across North America. Reporting to the Head of Content and based in Herndon, VA, the role helps drive employee engagement, reinforces Airbus's values, and supports communications efforts that promote internal brand relevance and pride in the company's mission. Meet the Team: Our Communications team members provide effective communications to support a variety of Airbus programs through strategic internal, external, social media and crisis communications. Our team is fluent in all areas of digital communications, media and public relations. We leverage available channels and tools, as well as creating new ones. We partner with business units throughout Airbus to position the company as a brand of choice for external customers and employees alike. Join the Communications team and help tell the Airbus story. Your Challenges: Primary Responsibilities: Internal and External Communication: 30%
Create, edit and distribute internal communications including newsletters, announcements and updates. Create and maintain communications content for intranet (known as "the Hub"), website, digital posters and Airbus TV. Assist in the development of reports, presentations, and communication materials for both internal and external stakeholders. Monitor digital communications tools and metrics to assess engagement, reach, and effectiveness; compile insights into actionable reports and recommendations. Support the production of videos and multimedia content, integrating emerging formats to enhance storytelling and audience impact.
Photography, graphic design and brand identity: 30%
Lead the execution of graphic design and photography projects using Adobe Creative Suite, ensuring visual consistency and brand alignment. Coordinate with agencies and/or external vendors to support visual content production and ensure brand consistency. Edit, refine, and organize communications materials (e.g., presentations, one-pagers, infographics, invitations) to ensure clarity, visual appeal, and alignment with Airbus's messaging and brand identity.
Stakeholder management and other communications support: 40%
Assist with partner and stakeholder requests such as logo usage, press release reviews, image requests, etc. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, provide communications guidance, and ensure message consistency across channels. Support employee events and milestones by providing engaging photography and graphics that promote a safe, positive and productive working environment. Work with diverse stakeholders to create engaging content for internal audiences that supports top site objectives and promotes Airbus's values. Ensure all communications materials reflect Airbus's brand identity, tone, and voice. Contribute to the planning and execution of events, including live streams, press announcements, and community engagement initiatives.

Your Boarding Pass: Required:
2 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field. Experience creating content across multiple formats (written, visual, digital) and channels (intranet, email, social, signage). Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field. Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail, grammar, and tone consistency. Basic graphic design and photo editing capabilities (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and familiarity with brand identity principles. Comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Proactive, organized, and able to follow established brand and content guidelines with precision. Familiarity with digital platforms such as intranet systems, content management tools, and internal communications tools. Analytical mindset with the ability to track content performance and engagement indicators. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and levels. Fluent in English (written and spoken) Travel Required: 10-15% Domestic and International Citizenship: Able to work in US without current or future need for visa sponsorship
Preferred:
4 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field. Prior experience in a large organization or international environment is preferred. Additional certifications or coursework in graphic design, multimedia, or digital communications are a plus
Physical Requirements:
Onsite or remote: Approximately 60% onsite presence in the Herndon, VA office and 40% remote work per Airbus policy. Vision: Able to see and read computer screens and printed materials, and to review graphic/video content daily. Hearing: Able to hear and participate in conversations in person and via phone/videoconference daily. Speaking: Able to speak clearly in meetings and presentations, and to communicate effectively with individuals and groups. Equipment Operation: Able to operate standard office equipment (computer, phone, videoconferencing) as part of daily duties. Carrying: Able to carry light materials such as a laptop, documents, or promotional items up to Occasionally as needed. Lifting: Able to lift office materials or equipment up to occasionally as required. Pushing/Pulling: Able to push or pull minor office furniture or equipment (e.g., chairs, display stands) occasionally. Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods (e.g. at a desk or in meetings) on a daily basis. Standing/Walking: Able to stand during presentations or events and walk within office and event facilities. Travel: Able to travel domestically and internationally, up to approximately 15% of the time, and on short notice when required. Personal Protective Equipment: Not typically required in an office setting. Must be able to comply with all safety requirements (e.g., safety shoes, glasses,...) when visiting Airbus production sites or events where such equipment is necessary.
