POSITION GOAL: (two - three sentences to describe main purpose of position) Reporting to the QA Supervisor, this position is responsible to work with the commissioning and line electricians, helping with troubleshooting, diagnosing, reporting, and working with vendors to help mitigate bus electrical down time. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (list in order of importance) 1. Work daily with the commissioning, primaries and line electricians on problem areas and provide support in the investigation and resolution. 2. Liaison between harness and electrical component suppliers, SDE's, SQA and New Flyer electrical engineering departments. 3. Provide support in the investigation and resolution, as well as the containment and corrective action of line issues concerning supplier and internal quality issues. Help determine root cause of NF line rejects and functional issues and help drive containment plans. 4. Perform all other functions within the Quality Department as assigned. Experience/Knowledge (Required Experience/Knowledge Only)LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must possess the ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics and ladder Logic PLC language, communicate professionally, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Must possess the ability to solve practical problems, deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Specific Job Skills (eg. computer skills, communication, motivation, organizational skills) Must have computer skills in Excel, Word and preferably experience with oracle and/or other data management systems. Must have experience with multiplex systems and troubleshooting electrical systems.Must have experience in root cause analysis, preventive and corrective action processes. Must have basic knowledge of: Ohms Law Series & Parallel Circuit fundamentals Recognizing generic industry schematic symbols Basic multimeter usage - checking voltage, resistance, continuity and amps Basic AC/DC knowledge (definition of each) Basic electrical components - switches, relays Types of electrical failure - shorts, opens, grounds Problem solving - a basic electrical scenario is presented, options presented for correction
