Join a high-impact program supporting national defense initiatives as an HPC Application Support Engineer. In this role, you'll collaborate with government and industry leaders to optimize, maintain, and enhance mission-critical HPC environments. This position will be based at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling located in SW Washington, DC. Due to the classification level of this program, telework is not allowed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and optimize applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Tune and troubleshoot custom HPC applications in C/C++, Java, and Python.
  • Partner with vendors and users to deliver tailored, high-performance solutions.
  • Automate processes and monitor application/system performance.
  • Provide backup HPC system administration and contribute to best practices.

Requirements

Required, Education, Experience, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or related) + 2 years' Linux/UNIX system experience (or equivalent combination).
  • Proficiency with HPC environments, compilers, debuggers, and tuning tools.
  • Strong scripting experience with Bash and Python.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+ along with RHCSA or RHCE.

Bonus points if you possess any or all of the following:

  • 5+ years supporting RHEL-based HPC systems.
  • Experience with PBS Pro, Slurm, Git, Confluence, IntelMPI, CUDA, and OpenMPI.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or SNMP.

  • You take a proactive approach to your work and you're able to accomplish tasks with limited guidance and supervision.

  • Your organizational skills allow you to manage competing priorities.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary Range:

  • The estimated salary range for this position will be $175,000 - $225,000+ annually, based on an individual's level of experience and skill set. It is our goal at ASEC to provide equitable compensation to all employees.
