Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist

Department: Equipment Manufacturing

Reports To: Operations Manager

Mission: Our core mission is to deliver high-quality, dependable, and cost-effective pretreatment and chemical feed systems that require minimal installation time and technical expertise from both our sales team and customers. Our primary focus and revenue source lie in the sale of water treatment chemicals.

The primary goal of the Quality Assurance Specialist is to ensure the highest standards of quality and reliability with our product offerings. Meeting these goals will minimize the time spent by our field force for equipment installation and start-up, while maximizing the time available for the pursuit of new chemical sales and business.

Purpose of the Job: Conduct rigorous testing and inspections of various water treatment equipment, including chemical feed, ion exchange, reverse osmosis, filtration, and specialized custom-engineered systems. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining compliance with industry standards will be essential in delivering products that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Level of Authority: The Quality Assurance Specialist has the authority to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety in water treatment applications. Authoritative measures include:

* Approve or reject equipment based on inspection results and quality criteria

* Halt manufacturing process or escalate issues to management and engineering when deviations from quality standards are identified

* Recommend and implement corrective actions to address quality issue and prevent recurrence

* Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to assess and improve quality control procedures and practices

Work Environment: Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with ambient temperatures varying between seasons from 40oF - 100oF.


Work Hours: Normal weekday office hours are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday. Due to the nature of our business night, weekend, and holiday hours may be required to meet our sales force and customer needs. Compensatory time off or overtime pay will be offered when these job requirements occur.
Travel: Travel is not required.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and checklists.


  • Conduct detailed inspections on Chem-Aqua's various water treatment systems to ensure the equipment meets quality standards and operates effectively within the specified parameters.


  • Document and file all quality control activities and test results.


  • Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) to verify that all components are included and for in the manufactured equipment.


  • Identify potential equipment issues and ensure that corrective actions (e.g. training, adding a QC measure, engineering design change, etc.) are taken promptly.


  • Maintain testing instruments and equipment


  • Work closely with engineering and technical teams to troubleshoot problems and implement effective solutions.


  • Ensure that all manufacturing techs adhere to quality standards and follow established protocols.

Qualifications and Capabilities
TECHNICAL

  • Four years experience in a manufacturing water treatment equipment


  • Proficiency in using quality control and testing equipment such as pressure gauges, flow meters, conductivity/pH/Temp meters, spectrophotometers, and multi-meters


  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manualsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify issues, troubleshoot equipment, and recommend effective solutions


  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members and management.


  • Conditioned to sustain work in a manufacturing environment that ranges in temperature from 40oF - 100oF.


Capable of standing, walking, and moving for extended periods during inspections and testing activities.

Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.

Good manual dexterity for handling small parts, tools, and equipment used in inspections and testing procedures.



  • Good visual ability for close-up observations and use of analytical and control equipment


  • Good depth perception and ability to distinguish different colors.


  • Good hearing ability to detect verbal and audible signals from a moderate distance.


  • Good communication skills to work cooperatively with associates.
