Required Certifications:



  • Minimum age requirement - 18+ (21+ if driving licensed Resort vehicles)
  • Food Handler's Certificate
  • TABC Certificate
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet the requirements of driver insurability as established by the insurance carrier required, preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • College degree in a hospitality related industry, valued.
  • Must have two years of experience in the food and beverage industry.
  • Encourage OSHA Hazard Communication Standard training and certification.

  • JOB OVERVIEW:

    To oversee the operations of Banquet/Event Services, including setup and maintenance of meeting rooms. This person will lead a small crew and accomplish multiple tasks in a timely manner; providing support for Banquets and Audio Visual whenever needed and maintaining a flawless experience by executing quickly and efficiently for our guests. Daily inspections for following day set-ups meet the exact specifications of the BEO, as well as keeping meeting space and pre-function areas presentable. Ensuring the completion of any checklists submitted throughout the day.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



    • Assist Service Supervisor by holding associates accountable for all policies, procedures and systems
    • Accessibility to staff all day
    • The development of other Event Services associates
    • Ensure superior service and sanitation standards, all rooms and table top utensils must be detailed and presentable prior to every function
    • Make sure all equipment is in working order for the department.
    • Have working knowledge on all resort amenities, including audio visual and wedding requirements
    • Coordinate room set ups taking in to consideration flow, entrances, exits and guest preference
    • Monitor pre-function interior and exterior space for cleanliness
    • Walk all outdoor space and meeting rooms in the beginning of the shift before guest arrival for correct set-up. (PM Functions)
    • Communicate necessary changes to the correct department throughout the Resort, via e-mail and messages
    • Daily exchange of information with Banquet Manager, Event Managers, Banquet Captains, Event Concierge, Audio Visual Manager and Event Services Supervisor
    • Attend BEO meetings


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



    • Previous Houseperson experience required.
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
    • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Physical ability to perform the functions of the job which includes lifting and moving tables, chairs, and equipment.
    • Comprehend reading materials, speak, read and write English


    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:



    • Requires problem solving abilities.
    • Self-starter with ability to work well independently and lead small teams
    • Neat in appearance and well groomed
    • Maintain proper associate uniform standards and footwear which is slip resistant and polished
