Working as a member of the Major Gifts & Individual Giving team and reporting to the Associate Director of Annual Fund, the Development Associate, Annual Fund will provide administrative, project, and strategic support. The Associate will aid in prospect management through timely data entry, seamless coordination with internal teams on annual fund & grateful patient prospects/processes and assist with donor visits. H/she will contribute to the team's goals of generating and maximizing philanthropic revenue to BMC by ensuring continuity in process and oversight of annual fund logistics.

This candidate will be a resourceful, creative, and adaptable individual who works well under deadlines. The candidate must work well independently and as a member of the Major & Individual Giving team. Excellent attention to detail and teamwork skills will be critical for success in this position.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:


  • Support Associate Director, Annual Fund and the Director of Planned Giving to execute direct mail, electronic and social media fundraising campaigns to acquire, retain, and upgrade BMC Fund donors.
  • In partnership with the Associate Director and Senior AF Associates, the Development Associate, Annual Fund will execute gift acknowledgments through customized letters, emails, and phone calls promoting long term donor retention
  • Partner with the Director of Planned Giving by prospecting for potential Planned Giving prospects by monitoring daily gift reports, event attendance, and quarterly portfolio management reviews; proactively offering leads and helping identify new and emerging prospects
  • Manage and maintain Raiser's Edge, NXT, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of donor interactions, gift histories, and engagement to support effective relationship management and fundraising efforts supporting both the Annual Fund and Planned Giving programs
  • Monitor the BMC Philanthropy Email Inbox responding to donor inquiries
  • Assist in the annual fund operations integration of two new hospitals to BMC Development's portfolio of work
  • Identify new prospects that have the capacity to make monthly, recurring annual fund donations to BMC creating more consistent streams of revenue
  • Collaborate with the Team BMC and Events teams to identify appropriate prospects for further engagement and cultivation beyond marathon and the annual gala
  • Advance annual stewardship opportunities by implementing new avenues to engage Grateful Patient donors with the health system in innovative ways (thank-a-thons for providers, thank you notes from patients to providers, etc.)
  • With the Senior Annual Fund Associates, develop strategies to engage a new generation of donors, creating new sources of consistent unrestricted revenue through specific programming and tailored solicitations
  • Bolster annual BMCHS employee giving and stewardship campaigns through payroll deduction and other giving methods to help build culture of philanthropy across BMCHS
  • Manage the archiving system of past annual fund and planned giving solicitations (mailings, emails, campaign briefs)
  • Participate in annual/quarterly goal setting, with eye towards year-over-year revenue growth in unrestricted funding for BMCHS
  • Provide additional support to MG/IG team members as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 1-2 related years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Sales or prospect management experience preferred
  • Experience working in donor databases

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs):


  • Knowledge of annual giving best practices; preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Strong professional demeanor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, quality control, and organizational skills
