About the Nurse Aide Trainee Program:

• The program runs three weeks, Monday through Friday, generally 7:00am-3:00pm (hours may vary)

• Weeks 1 & 2: Classroom instruction

• Week 3: Clinical hands-on training alongside licensed clinicians

• Upon successful completion, you'll be certified as a CNA - your pay and status will be upgraded accordingly

• Elderwood covers your CNA certification exam fees and required onboarding (e.g., PPD test, physical exam)

• Until training begins, you'll be assigned a trainee shift working under supervision to gain experience

CNA Training Track Responsibilities:

• Assist with resident transport to dining, activities, therapy, and treatment areas

• Make unoccupied beds and keep resident rooms tidy

• Help with dining services: passing trays, opening containers, and distributing supplemental nourishment

• Support informal activities on the nursing unit when time permits

• Provide fresh water to residents as directed

• Clean resident equipment and maintain neat common areas

• Observe and report any unusual incidents or resident needs to therapists or nurses

CNA Training Track Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Employment Certificate/Permit required for ages 16-17
• No history of resident abuse, mistreatment, or property misappropriation
• Genuine interest in caregiving and a strong work ethic
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment
