Job summary:

Open role for skilled and experienced Mechanical Journeyman / First Class Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with all applicable codes and standards.

POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Operate, maintain, and repair mechanical systems including HVAC, boilers, pumps, compressors, and piping systems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
  • Monitor and adjust building automation systems (BAS) to maintain environmental conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Collaborate with other trades and departments to support facility operations.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and participate in on-call rotations as needed.



QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION



  • Must be a high school graduate or have HS equivalent
  • Technical or trade School degree or certification preferred



EXPERIENCE



  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or engineering roles.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES



  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and steam systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, diagnostic instruments, and maintenance software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.



CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:



  • Must obtain 1st Class Stationary Engineer (limited) license within 42 months of employment.
  • Must possess and maintain State Mechanical Journeyman License
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification Preferred

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces and comfortable working in elevated heights.
