Job Description

To administer Stores inventory system and purchasing for maintenance parts and supplies. To maintain an acceptable level of stock, thus keeping production uptime to a maximum. To seek opportunities to reduce cost and improve service.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Create daily purchase orders, receive and physically stock location
  • Update price changes and vendor contact information
  • Investigate opportunities to reduce price, especially on high price and high frequency items
  • Expedite emergency orders
  • Follow up on delinquent orders & stock outs
  • Track savings, min-max inventory level changes & new parts added
  • Investigate & resolve invoice discrepancies and reports
  • Add part to plant location (cross reference, preferred vendor, pricing, inventory levels)
  • Handle returns for incorrect shipments (obtaining RGA#, prepare shipping memo, package for return shipment)
  • Handle shipments to other plants/vendors (prepare shipping memo, package for return shipment)
  • Communicate problems to users & seek resolution (discontinued parts, additional information needed on current parts, etc.)
  • Communicate opportunities to change parts to a less costly, more efficient item
  • Reconcile procurement card transactions
  • Communicate any changes to a vendor's profile to vendor master data team
  • Troubleshoot any problems craft might encounter concerning stocked material (part is bad, wrong, wearing out too quickly, etc.)
  • Maintain housekeeping in office area and storerooms
  • Meet with vendors as needed
  • Follow stated cycle count obligations and report out and investigate discrepancies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Physically capable of:



  • lifting 40lbs
  • climbing stairs
  • standing for extended periods


Computer skills:



  • Excel
  • Word
  • Internet navigation to source parts from non-standard suppliers


Interpersonal skills:



  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Detail oriented and organized
