Seeking a midlevel associate with 3-5 years of large law firm experience to join our tax practice in our Boston office. The successful applicant must possess excellent academic credentials and writing skills and should have experience representing public and private companies, private equity funds, hedge funds, and other private fund vehicles, and institutional investors in the tax aspects of fund formations, fund operational matters, limited partner investments, mergers and acquisitions, partnership and joint venture transactions, and other similar transactional tax matters. Experience with cross-border tax planning, partnership taxation, and special tax regimes (including those relevant to regulated investment companies, real estate investment trusts, foreign government investors, and foreign pension fund investors) is desirable. The candidate must have the ability to understand the practical interaction of tax considerations within a larger framework of commercial agreements and goals, possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and have the ability to work effectively as part of large cross-office teams. Active Massachusetts Bar membership is required. Morgan Lewis is not currently accepting resumes from search firms for this position. For positions in MA, the salary wage range for this job posting is $225,000 to $435,000. The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. Final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
