Requisition Number: 101120 Strategic Business Development team Job Role: The Microsoft Strategic Business Development team is responsible driving top of the funnel services pipeline, while building, maintaining, and managing deeply rooted and trusted partner relationships with Microsoft. We are looking for a Strategic Business Development Manager who is able to sell, qualify, curate plays which lead to pipeline. They also need to how to navigate Microsoft sales organization, an understanding of the Microsoft partner ecosystem, and experience with partner led generation. In this role, you will work directly with Insight's sellers, services and solution teams to ensure our brand is favorably showcased across your assigned Microsoft solution areas and sales segments. We work in coordination with all facets of our company including sales, delivery, national practice, legal and finance teams. Our partner (Microsoft) and internal teammates rely on our Microsoft Strategic Business Development team to generate qualified services pipeline. This role will have alignment with a specific solution area teams within Microsoft, such as Azure, Data, AI, Apps, Copilot and Security. The role will also have specific Microsoft sales segment alignment to Enterprise. Responsibilities:
- Drive top of the funnel services pipeline
- Experience in selling services
- Contribute entering/tracking/managing services lead in Insight's CRM and MSFT's Partner Center
- Execute formal CoSell programs with Microsoft
- Represent your assigned Solution Area(s) and Sales Segment(s) on behalf of Insight's Microsoft Services CoSell/Alliances team to drive business development efforts through the partner channel yielding new business into our sellers.
- Communicate and network effectively within the partner's (Microsoft's) organization, whether it's the business units or specialized global black belt (GBB) teams, the Microsoft Account Team Units (ATUs) or Specialty Team Units (STUs), customer success (CSU & Unified).
- Evangelize Insight to Microsoft and communicate how Insight's solutions align with Microsoft's partner strategy.
- Work closely with Insight's sales teammates to facilitate a positive and favorable partner relationship rhythm for your assigned areas, serving as primary executor on strategic and tactical duties.
- Assist with Account Planning, MSFT incentive programs, and propensity alignment.
- Industry background/alignment - present and advocate Insight solution services.
- Perform status reviews with Microsoft and provide internal reports to stakeholders.
- Serve as point person partner events and initiatives.
- Be comfortable presenting in front audiences of all sizes selling Insight's capabilities and market differentiators.
- Build strong and healthy relationships with all members of Insight's and Microsoft's teams to support partner rhythm and top of mind presence with the partner community.
- Work with Insight's assigned channel partner development managers (PDMs) from Microsoft to ensure that partner impact is properly measured in geo.
- Perform status reviews with Microsoft and provide internal reports to stakeholders.
- Travel up to 25%
Qualifications
- 7+ years in Sales, preferably with experience working at Microsoft
- Understanding of Microsoft cloud solutions including Azure, Data/AI/Apps, Security, D365, Copilots, Agents and Security
- Prior working relationships with Microsoft.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft's partner, sales and specialist team organizational structures.
- Ability to identify actionable insights from ambiguous and sometimes limited information.
- Excellent presentation and meeting organization skills - must be able to present to groups
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced multi-faceted environment.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to structure days and activities on your own.
- Experience leading successful direct partner and client communications.
- Must be organized, detail oriented, flexible, and able to prioritize multiple projects with short deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
