The position is for a senior engineer to provide site engineering support to resolve technical issues and repair part provisioning initiatives related to the S8G Prototype at the Kesselring Site, including off-hull and facility systems. The position is located at the Kesselring Site in West Milton NY. Repair part provisioning initiatives require a baseline knowledge of Naval Nuclear Power propulsion plant systems and components, and an understanding of the Naval Supply System. The candidate will actively be involved in the Component Design Agent project, which involves supporting proactive reviews of provisioning technical documentation, identification of obsolescent replacement parts or components, identification of required drawing and/or manual changes, interfacing with Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) and Electric Boat Reactor Plant Planning Yard (RPPY) personnel, and submitting and responding to Logistics Liaison Action Requests (LOG LARs).

The candidate will also be required to interface with various engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues and handle emergent engineering support requests regarding prototype equipment.



Qualifications

Required:

    Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of engineering experience
  • Acquire and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance and security access to the DOE Kesselring Site facility

Preferred:

  • Experience with the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, more specifically the design and principles for the operation of the S8GP Reactor Plant, Secondary Plant and related Off-hull Plant Support Systems.
  • Experience in working with multiple government agencies that are associated with the maintenance and operation of the Kesselring Site.
  • Experience with Integrated Logistics Support and the Enterprise Business System.
  • Navy nuclear experience, especially on OHIO class.


Skills

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Capable of multi-tasking and working with multiple internal and external organizations
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office computer software applications and familiarity with computer network operations associated with the Naval Nuclear Power Program (e.g., Web ATIS, EBS).
  • Candidate must possess and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance in order to support the above job description.
