Position Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to play a pivotal role in the comprehensive transformation of our enterprise data ecosystem from legacy on-premises systems to a modern, cloud-native architecture. While our Enterprise Data Warehouse migration from SQL Server to Snowflake represents a critical component of this initiative, the role encompasses the broader challenge of reimagining our entire data landscape across multiple enterprise systems and integration patterns.
Our organization is undergoing a major technology modernization initiative that spans numerous on-premises applications and data integration processes. This role requires holistic architectural thinking to map our enterprise data topology, identify modernization opportunities across all systems, and design an integrated approach that optimizes our entire data ecosystem rather than individual components in isolation.

Key Responsibilities Architecture & Design (40%)

  • Execute comprehensive data flow mapping exercises to accurately represent current state
  • Architect integration patterns for complex multi-system environments including Salesforce CRM, Costpoint accounting ERP, Oracle Service Cloud, and billing platforms
  • Design and implement enterprise-wide data architecture patterns, standards, and best practices that span multiple systems and business functions
  • Create comprehensive data models supporting both operational and analytical workloads across the organization
  • Collaborate with Data Strategy initiatives to establish data governance frameworks and metadata management strategies

Technical Leadership (30%)

  • Collaborate with the Data Platform team to ensure architectural alignment with existing and emerging platform capabilities
  • Partner with business domain leads to develop data models that effectively support diverse business requirements and use cases
  • Work closely with the Data Strategy team to ensure technical architecture decisions align with broader business objectives and strategic initiatives

Strategic Initiatives (20%)

  • Support critical programs including Lead to Cash Transformation (LTCT) and pricing/packaging initiatives
  • Design data architecture to enable AI/ML capabilities and predictive analytics
  • Architect solutions for account hierarchy management and product data classification
  • Develop strategies for integrating acquired company data
  • Evaluate and assess data architecture components/tools based on business needs

Governance & Standards (10%)

  • Establish data modeling standards and naming conventions
  • Define data quality rules and validation frameworks
  • Document architectural decisions and maintain solution blueprints
  • Participate in the Data Governance Council to ensure architectural compliance

Qualifications

Technical Expertise:

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture and data modeling
  • Proven expertise in both SQL Server and Snowflake platforms
  • Strong experience with dimensional modeling, data vault, and other data modeling methodologies
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data pipeline orchestration tools
  • Extensive experience with legacy on-prem IT environments with tightly coupled components, especially in the context of migration and modernization initiatives
  • Knowledge of modern data stack tools (dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Integration Experience
  • Proven track record navigating hybrid on-prem and cloud arrangements
  • Experience within an ongoing on-prem to cloud modernization environment with many parallel workstreams
  • Experience integrating enterprise applications (Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, or similar)
  • Understanding of API design patterns and real-time data integration
  • Knowledge of CDC (Change Data Capture) and event streaming technologies
  • Leadership & Communication
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders
  • Proven experience in a complex hybrid environment with significant on-prem and cloud resources at various states of modernization
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills
  • Track record of successful large-scale data platform migrations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Snowflake certification (SnowPro Core or Advanced)
  • Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) solutions
  • Knowledge of data mesh or data fabric architectural patterns
  • Experience in SaaS or software industry
  • Familiarity with Deltek products and project-based ERP systems

Compensation Information

The U.S. salary range for this position is $117500.00 - $205750.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
