Role: The Commercial Lending QC Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring commercial loans have complete and proper documentation that adheres to Commercial Loan Policy and Federal Regulations. This position ensures commercial loans are accurately booked in the core system, that commercial loan files are audit ready, that regulatory reports are maintained, and that procedures are upheld. The Commercial Lending QC Compliance Specialist works closely with management, lenders and support staff to ensure deadlines are met & prioritized appropriately. Serves as a resource regarding compliance and regulatory issues, loan structure and documentation, software and systems. Provides members with a superior level of service related to commercial loans, as needed. Hybrid eligible - must work in office 3 days per week including Monday & Friday.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews daily audit reports including file maintenance, rate and payment changes, delinquent and matured loans, interest paid ahead, loans on non-accrual, unapplied balances, payment and loan exceptions.
  • Maintains loan processing software ensuring templates are set up for accurate documentation and interest rate indexes are updated weekly. Provides backup support to loan processing to generate required loan documentation in compliance with all federal, state, and credit union requirements.
  • Completes audit of booked loans for quality control, ensuring required documentation is in the file. Reviews paid loan files and upholds process for releasing collateral.
  • Maintains application log ensuring all denied and withdrawn loan requests are tracked and that all applications are decisioned in accordance with Regulation B.
  • Provides members with commercial loan servicing support, as needed. Process payments and payoffs, loan payment corrections, escrow disbursements, refunds of force placed insurance.
  • Handles HMDA reporting for commercial loans, makes entries into LAR in compliance with Regulation C.
  • Prepares and submits the monthly SBA 1502 report.
  • Monitors real estate collateral for delinquent property taxes. Ensures all real estate parcels are properly entered and tracked by third-party vendor, reviews tax reports, adds and updates loan ticklers accordingly.
  • Conducts quarterly portfolio review and updates codes for call report purposes. Confirms each commercial loan is accurately coded in the core as member business loan, commercial loan, risk based net worth, TDR, non-recourse and/or a loan policy exception.
  • Aids accounting department regarding general ledgers, balancing or call report questions. Submits and approves invoices for payment.
  • Works with IT and third-party vendors during new product implementation, and ongoing maintenance and revisions of systems and applications.

Other Duties

  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support effective department operation

Requirements

Experience/Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting lending operations

Demonstrated Knowledge

  • Knowledge of:
  • Commercial loan products, services, policies and procedures
  • Microsoft Office 365 with some advanced proficiency in MS Excel
  • Fiserv DNA, LaserPro and Meridian Link
  • Ability to:
  • Perform collateral perfection, including real property and UCC
  • Comprehend complex legal documents, specifically attorney prepared loan documents
  • Meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Use clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Recognize and troubleshoot system problems and inefficiencies
  • Manage multiple tasks concurrently while upholding superior attention to detail.
  • Problem solve and maintain a courteous demeanor in a busy, high stress work environment

Communication Skills

Ability to proactively respond to members/staff and provide solutions; some written communications are based on templates but can be modified.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and stand; answer calls; operate computer; interact with internal staff and members on the phone; travel to designated offices; lift up to 20 lbs.

We are committed to providing salary ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on your experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity considerations.

The salary range for this position is: $30.35 - $40.87. This range reflects the base salary for this position. We have other benefits associated with this position which include: low-cost medical (as low as $20 a paycheck), dental insurance, vision insurance, quarterly bonuses, generous vacation and sick time hours, paid leave options, up to 6% 401k contribution, and tuition reimbursement.
