Environmental Field Technician

Position Overview

C&S is seeking a part-time Environmental Field Technician to join our Environmental Service Group in our Syracuse, New York office. In this role, you will perform environmental testing, inspections, and observation in and around the Syracuse area.

Position Responsibilities

• Perform environmental testing of soils, water, regulated materials
• Perform field related observation of environmental projects
• Complete construction observation at various remediation sites
• Complete air monitoring at various remediation sites
• Communicate with teammates, clients, contractors, and regulators
• Plan and coordinate field tasks
• Maintain accurate project records, including a daily log of all project related activities and communications, when necessary

Skills/Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent education
• 0 to 5 years in environmental consulting, construction inspection, or related field experience
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to read project scopes and design drawings
• Requires working with contractors and limited travel
• Work in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Wear and properly use a variety of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds periodically

Relevant Experience/Certifications*:

• OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour
• OSHA Construction 10-hour
• NYS Certified Asbestos Building Inspector

Estimated Compensation Range and Benefits

$22.00 - $25.00/hour*
