Function: Assumes responsibility for complex activity of Commercial Construction Loan monitoring and operations. Ensures the timely processing of commercial construction loan closings, loan draw requests, monitors collateral positions, performance metrics and borrower trends. Responsible with preserving the bank's collateral through the diligent following of processes and controls while providing a high level of customer service and support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Independently monitors a portfolio of complex commercial construction loan accounts and is responsible for ensuring loans are in compliance with the Credit Approval and Business Loan Agreement. Responsible for evaluating and mitigating construction loan risk associated with day-to-day operations, while ensuring a consistent approach.

  • Responsible for adhering to Key and Secondary SOX Controls pertaining to the engagement of independent site consultants, building and maintaining a detailed project budget, and securely disbursing loan draws per the borrower's funding instructions.

  • Participates in loan structuring with account officers and helps prepare information for Commercial Loan Underwriting including: Collecting and analyzing collateral data and recommending conditions for proper loan structure.

  • Reviews and analyzes loan documentation to determine appropriate recommendations.

  • Receives and responds to various customer questions, works to resolve issues and provides ongoing customer service in the administration of Construction loans.

  • Ensures compliance with existing loan policies and procedures and assists in policy development and modification.

  • Provides assistance regarding accounts to less experienced CCAM Administrators.

  • Monitors information concerning the construction performance in accordance with scheduled completion and budget. Identifies out-of-balance situations and potential construction risk concerns that could impact project completion.

  • Contacts Commercial Banker, Regional Credit Officer and CCAM management to resolve project discrepancies.

  • Maintains a database and files for construction loan budgets and supporting construction documentation.

  • May be asked to conduct site inspections on construction loan projects to verify collateral.

  • Assists in the preparation of summary reports of the construction portfolio.

  • Coordinates and engages 3rd party monthly site inspections and Plan, Cost & Documentation Reviews. Reviews results and reports findings to Commercial Lending Account Officer, Regional Credit Officer, Credit Management and Lending Management.

  • Maintains a good working relationship with bank employees. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently, as well as motivated to work as a team player to contribute to the success of the department, and in turn the organization.

  • Utilizes the bank's credit underwriting, approval and workflow system, nCino, to track loan status, verify pre-funding documentation and approve initial funding.

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

Education:

Requires a four year college or equivalent, majoring in accounting or finance.

Experience:

Two to five years specialized experience with the ability to independently manage complex commercial construction loan monitory activity.

Physical Demands:

50% of the day is spent operating a keypad device. 10% of the day is spent operating office equipment. Use of manual dexterity skills for typing and data entry up to 40% of the business day.
