NOTE: This position is funded through an external grant. Continued employment beyond the fiscal year is contingent upon continued funding.
Position Summary: The GPS Academic Coordinator is responsible for implementing all academic support activities of the grant. These include outreach, advising, supplemental academic instruction, peer mentoring, and retention protocols. This position reports on data and progress to the GPS Activity Director and Project Director. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement the Academic Supplemental Instruction (SI) program.
- Manage SI leaders, courses, and Student Success Center personnel.
- Work with advisors and faculty to develop and coordinate student learning communities.
- Assist with Co-Curricular activities as part of retention protocols.
- Promote a customer service focused environment to respond to stakeholders needs.
- Data collection and collaboration with ENMUR Institutional Effectiveness office.
- Compile information for reports on student engagement and success.
- Work with GPS Activity Director and AVPs to ensure STEM-related grant objectives are met.
- Integrate developmental efforts with other ENMUR initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, education, or a related field.
- One year of experience in secondary or post-secondary education.
- Strong information technology skills including knowledge of and comfort with educational technologies, such as presentation and collaboration tools, web course management software, library management systems, discovery applications, and effective search strategies.
- Excellent writing, speaking, presenting, and interpersonal skills, both in person and online.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a STEM field, administration, education or a related field.
- Three years of experience in secondary or post-secondary education.
- Demonstrated experience in an academic Supplemental Instruction program.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent customer service and written and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions
-
- Work is performed during normal business hours, with occasional evenings and weekends to meet deadlines.
- Work is generally sedentary, but may occasionally require exerting up to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
