The Scholarship Program Administrator position directly contributes to our mission by effectively facilitating a portfolio of scholarship programs to change students' lives through scholarships. This role will work with client partners to guide them through their program cycle, including client contract approval, student applications, evaluations, selections, notifications, college payment and reporting. The position consults with clients on Scholarship America best practices to achieve student outcomes and program goals. The Scholarship Program Administrator also works with cross-functional internal teams that support program delivery and assists students, parents, and school officials in a team environment.

Position Expectations:

  • Proactively foster the partner relationship ensuring partners are kept up to date and aware of the program status, provide suggestions and guidance in order to maximize program impact
  • Responsible for the accurate completion of all processes required of the scholarship, using multiple customized and standard operating systems
  • Share knowledge of business processes and procedural changes with team members, contributing to a positive, team-based culture
  • Maintain detailed student and financial records, determine eligibility and oversee student award payments, ensuring contract requirements are accurately fulfilled
  • Use professional communication skills to provide support to clients, students, parents, recommenders and schools
  • Support and drive organizational change by providing input to increase efficiencies and improve technology
  • Implement organizational skills to prioritize work and ensure program timelines are met
  • Understand and manage the applicant evaluation process and participate in granting scholarship awards
  • Update and communicate program details to include contract and calendar, application processing and evaluation, allocation and distribution of awards, and preparation of reports
  • Demonstrate positive collaboration with other areas of the organization to meet program needs
  • Invoice and maintain financial accounts for assigned programs and provide assistance with financial reporting

Minimum Requirements:

  • Successful background with client relationships, account management and/or customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, efficiently, and cooperatively with diverse groups of people in on-site and virtual environments
  • Effective professional communication skills (verbal -phone, written-email, chat, letters, contracts, documentation); may include in-person contact for site visits
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management & prioritization skills to effectively manage competing priorities
  • Attention to detail to ensure programs are administered according to contract parameters and timelines
  • Proficiency with Excel and other MS Office Suite products
  • Strong aptitude for learning and effectively utilizing new software applications and digital tools
  • Initiative to analyze and solve problems
  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience
  • A passion for improving student outcomes and a commitment to serving marginalized students of need

Preferred Requirements:

  • Ability to coach and consult with partners on designing programs that support students of greatest need
  • Experience providing customer service to or supporting diverse populations
  • Cultural awareness to appreciate varied lived experiences and the potential impact on educational achievement.
  • Understanding of scholarship processes through personal or professional experience
  • Multi-lingual skills (preferably Spanish)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Exemption Status: Hourly

Pay range: $17.45 - $21.83 - $26.20

This is the pay range for our staff in this position, from entry to fully independent and proficient in the role utilizing our propriety systems and processes. The candidate selected for this position will be offered a wage applicable to their background and skill set as aligned to our business. This will result in an initial offer between $17.45 - $18.50 per hour for this position.
