The YMCA of the North Shore is looking for a caring, flexible, and energetic Floating Teacher to make a difference every day!

As a Floating Teacher, you will:

Support classroom teachers, lead teachers, and directors in creating fun, developmentally appropriate activities that spark curiosity and growth.

Help maintain a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where every child can learn and thrive.

Assist with daily classroom organization and cleanliness, ensuring materials are put away and spaces are ready for discovery.

Communicate positively with parents and caregivers-while respecting confidentiality and following our YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Help keep records accurate and up-to-date, including attendance, meal counts, and incident reports.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

* Must be at least 16 years of age and currently enrolled in, or have completed, high school or an equivalent program.

* Must meet Department of Early Childhood Education and Care requirements for childcare staff.

Requirements:

* Understanding of child development and ability to apply this knowledge in daily activities.

* Review and follow center policies, including Health Care Policy, Parent Handbook, and Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention Policy.

* Maintain current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certifications.

* Complete all required trainings, certifications, and orientation as outlined by the MA Department of Early Education and Care and the YMCA of the North Shore Training Plan.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

* Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

* Must be able to react quickly to the unpredictable actions of children and ensure their safety at all times.
