YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE We are looking for a Vice President of Human Resources in 401 N Michigan Avenue, Ste. 1400, Chicago, IL 60611 USA. Your mission will be to: The Vice President of Human Resources plays a critical role in driving the strategy, vision, and execution of all human resources and organizational development initiatives across North America. Reporting to the President, North America, and partnering globally with HR Committee leaders and corporate leadership, this role ensures that people strategies are aligned with business goals and that the organization attracts, develops, and retains top talent. This position leads efforts in compensation, benefits, talent management, workforce planning, recruitment, employee engagement and retention, performance management, employee relations, safety, and organizational effectiveness while also ensuring legal compliance, risk mitigation, and a culture of inclusion and high performance. YOUR PROFILE Qualifications Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree or certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred. 10+ years of progressive HR and organizational development experience in a corporate setting, with at least 6 years in a senior leadership role. Proven ability to design and implement enterprise HR strategies aligned to business objectives. Strong executive presence, with excellent communication, coaching, and influencing skills. Track record of building high-performing teams and mentoring future HR leaders. Experience navigating complex organizational environments and managing through change. Deep knowledge of employment law, HR metrics, compensation strategy, and employee relations. A growth mindset, high EQ, and a genuine passion for people and culture.
Qualifications Desired
Master's degree or executive-level HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR). Experience leading HR across multi-site or global operations. Background in organizational transformation, DEI, or culture-building initiatives. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to leverage HR data for strategic decisions. Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are a plus.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Partner with the President of North America to set the vision and strategic direction for all HR and organizational development initiatives. Partner with HR Committee leaders across all countries and corporate global leadership to shape and align the strategic vision for human resources and organizational development on a global scale. Lead and inspire a high-performing HR team across North America to deliver value-driven programs in talent management, engagement, culture, performance, employee relations, and more. Oversee all HR operations including compensation, benefits, HCM systems, recruitment, compliance, safety, and analytics. Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, leadership development, and change management. Champion a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), embedding inclusive practices into every touchpoint of the employee lifecycle. Drive innovation in performance management, rewards, and employee development initiatives that support business growth and team member well-being. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and industry trends; ensure compliance and proactive risk mitigation. Represent the company's people agenda in cross-functional leadership teams and external HR networks. Lead enterprise-wide HR projects and transformational initiatives from ideation through execution and measurement. Other related duties as assigned. Communication
This role requires frequent, high-impact communication with executive leaders across global and corporate business units to align on people strategies and organizational initiatives. Regular interaction with leaders and staff across laboratory and departmental functions is essential to support employee relations, resolve performance and staffing concerns, and guide the consistent application of policies and procedures. The VP of HR also engages with external partners-including vendors, brokers, and third-party providers-to manage programs, negotiate services, and ensure alignment with company standards and employee needs.
