Job Summary:
The Tool and Parts Attendant will be responsible for receiving, issuing, and managing hand tools, machine
tools, dies, replacement parts, and shop supplies, including hazardous materials (HAZMAT). This position
ensures accountability and proper maintenance of all tools and equipment in the tool room. The attendant
will monitor tool conditions, perform inventory management and ensure safety and quality standards are
followed in the tool and parts handling process.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Tool and Equipment Management:
o Receive, unpack, store, and issue tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
o Maintain records of tools issued and returned by workers.
o Attach identification tags or engrave tools and equipment for tracking purposes.
o Operate computer systems and programs (e.g., NALCOMIS/OOMA, Word, Excel) to track and
retrieve inventory information.
o Monitor the condition of tools and equipment on an ongoing basis, reporting any damage or
loss.
o Prepare periodic or perpetual inventories and requisition stock as needed.
* Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Handling:
o Issue and receive HAZMAT, handle and store HAZMAT materials safely.
o Follow proper protocols for hazardous material handling in an industrial setting.
* Compliance and Safety:
o Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements in accordance with
organizational and Navy regulations.
o Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a safe work environment, completing all training
and fulfilling emergency response responsibilities.
o Participate in safety committees and teams, adhering to the company's safety culture.
* Inventory Management & Reporting:
o Keep accurate inventory records and perform regular tool audits.
o Requisition tools and parts as necessary based on inventory levels.
* General Duties:
o Assist with housekeeping and maintain the cleanliness of the tool room and shop.
o Participate in the FOD (Foreign Object Debris) program.
o Perform all other duties as assigned.
o Maintain detailed records of all maintenance performed in OOMA or similar to OOMA systems
ensuring compliance with 4790 and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience:
* Education and Experience:
o High school diploma or GED required.
o At least 1 year of related experience, including familiarity with a wide range of tools and
equipment used in vehicle maintenance and warehousing.
o Basic knowledge of warehousing concepts, including storage layout and material handling.
* Certifications:
o Must be able to obtain and maintain Tool and Parts Designation and related certifications.
o Ability to work in compliance with Navy regulations (CNAFINST 4790.2).
o Must be able to pass all training and complete the required qualifications.
* Other Requirements:
o Ability to work flexible shifts based on tasking and flight schedules. Full time employment; but
40-hours is not guaranteed per week. Start time and end time will be dependent on flight
schedule and overall tasking.
o Must be able to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
o Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
o Must have a valid and current state driver's license.
o Must meet physical requirements and pass any medical examinations.
o Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Working Conditions:
* Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
* Computer usage for documentation using codes and clear written and verbal English language
required.
* Constant use of eyesight abilities while reviewing documents, walking around work areas and
constant use of English language speech/hearing abilities for communication.
* Prolonged sitting and computer usage for documentation.
* Constant mental alertness around all work areas, must possess planning/organization skills, and
must be able to work under deadlines.
* Climbing aircraft using aircraft step and all types of ladders or stands.
* Standing long periods of time with minimal sitting.
* Ability to work under extreme weather conditions.
* Work site has head, hand, hearing, eye, slip and trip hazards. Proper use of PPE and proper safety
procedures must be followed.
