This position is funded for 2 year(s); continuation past 2 year(s) will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.POSITION SPECIFICS The Athletic Trainer provides athletic training services to physically active individuals within the University in accordance with Pennsylvania Practice Act, established by the state board of medicine within the department of the state with the goal of optimizing performance athletic ability. Provide emergency care, develop injury prevention programs for student athletes, assess, treat, and rehabilitate the physically active person whose conditions are within the professional preparation and education of a certified athletic trainer, with the direction of a licensed physician.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Master's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: Licensed Athletic Trainer - Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) - National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification - American Red Cross, American Heart Association or other accredited organization Automated External Defibrillator(AED) Certification - American Red Cross, American Heart Association or other accredited organizationBACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
