The position is responsible for various tasks aligned with monthly Costpoint functions including preparation of invoices; development, review and understanding of project financial reporting to internal and external and internal clients; and general support of the contract administration process for a variety of U.S. Government contracts, including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time & Materials (T&M), and Cost Plus FAR based vehicles, GSA MAS task orders, blanket purchase agreements, and other transactions. This role requires strong analytical skills to review, reconcile, and finalize billing data and project details, ensuring contract compliance andaccurate financial reporting.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Billing:
    • Lead the monthly contract billing process by reviewing project costs and indirect rates and ensuring all cost elements have been properly recorded and billed.
    • Prepare and submit invoices in compliance with FAR and client-specific requirements.
    • Collaborate with Project Accounting, Financial Controller, Program Managers, and Contracts team to resolve outstanding issues and ensure the integrity billing and monthly reporting.
    • Assist in the preparation of contract required monthly financial deliverables on a client-specific basis.
  • Closeout:
    • Conduct thorough reconciliation of direct and indirect costs, identify adjustments or corrections needed prior to contract closeout.
    • Perform contract/subcontract closeout activities including researching historical billing data, identifying unbilled balances, and reviewing project modifications to support closeout documentation and audits.
    • Maintain audit-ready support files and coordinate with external auditors when necessary.
  • General:
    • Assist Contracts Manager with general contract compliance tasks.
    • Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures and Processes as needed.
    • Assist with the development of special financial reports as required.
    • Assist in monitoring and analyzing financial invoices received from subcontractors.

Required Skills and Education:

  • Three or more years supporting Government contracting finance within a fast-paced non- Governmental organization.
  • Solid understanding of billing and project setup up and processes using Deltek Costpoint, including at least two years of recent experience working in Deltek Costpoint.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in reconciling complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in Excel functions (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and general familiarity with development and use of Business Intelligence (BI) reporting in Costpoint.
  • Knowledge of FAR and CAS requirements including indirect rate structures and calculations.
  • Familiarity with project accounting, project setup, and revenue recognition.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and resolve technical billing issues with minimal oversight.
  • Professional Skills:
    • Highly detail-oriented and organized, with a strong understanding of U.S Governmentcontract billing rules.
    • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration and comfortable interfacing with finance, compliance, and contracts teams.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly explain findings and closeout requirements.
    • Resourceful, analytical, and able to research historical data to validate billing and reporting accuracy.
