This individual will provide professional support to the Indirect Tax Group in the preparation of the Car Tax/Personal Property Tax returns, payroll tax deposits and payments for unclaimed property. In addition, they will provide general administrative and professional support to the Tax Department.



Responsibilities

Indirect Tax Group support:

    Prepare Car Tax/Personal Property Tax returns subject to the review of the Senior Manager, Indirect Tax. Assist in assembling all relevant information for use in preparing these returns. Prepare payroll tax deposits for Canada and the required payments for unclaimed property. Also, assist in preparing Sales/Use Tax returns as required and in preparing/reviewing the Real and Personal Property tax accrual amounts.

Various special project work:

  • Maintain access-based database of due dates for the property, sales & uses taxes and income tax functions; maintain the tax file system, create and process check requests; maintain file storage; process car tax returns and income tax returns. Perform special projects as required such as data entry and assisting in assembling information for tax compliance.

General administrative Department support:

  • Vacation/Sick Day data entry and monitoring, mail distribution, copy and certify mail various tax returns, supply ordering, issue package passes, coordinate procurement of key cards for external visitors, schedule meetings, process UPS and messenger service shipments, make photocopies, answer and screen CTO's phone calls and administrative support for all members of the Tax Department (20). Also, coordinate the preparation of monthly operating report for distribution to the CFO.


Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Associates degree or high school diploma with equivalent work experience required.
  • At least 5-years of general business experience in a professional office environment, preferably in a large corporate tax department at a professional firm or large corporation.
  • Proficiency in multiple PC applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Administrative support experience helpful.

Other:

  • Willingness/availability to work overtime as required.
  • This is a HYBRID role located in Chicago.

Min

USD $59,600.00/Yr.


Max

USD $84,000.00/Yr.
This role may be eligible to participate in the Company's short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.
This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.
