Job Description:

Assists a faculty member in conducting engineering education research on affect and engineering identity.
  • Codes interview transcripts from participants.
  • Prepares reflections for participants.
  • Coordinates activities with undergraduate researchers in multi-site research team.
  • Provides data analysis.
  • Provides feedback to other members of research team on analyses or drafts.
  • Writing/dissemination of results.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Cooperates and collaborates with collaborators and other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality

  • Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines

  • Performs other duties as required

EDUCATION

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Engineering, or a related field from four-year college or university.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • None

Preferred:

  • Experience working with qualitative methods and transcript coding.

  • One year or more of prior research experience.

  • Experience employing theoretical frameworks for affect and engineering identity.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required:

  • Knowledge of basic qualitative research methodology.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to ethically conduct engineering education research with data from human participants.

Preferred:

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Good time management skills.

  • Experience in preparation of scientific presentations and publications.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • All jobs require a current Criminal Background Check (CBC).

  • Ethical human subjects research procedures must be followed.
