Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges-the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day? If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place.
Your Impact
You will be part of McKinsey's Ethics and Compliance (E&C) function and will be based in the United States. The E&C function's mission is to manage risks to our firm, our clients, and our people, while also enabling our firm's client impact and innovation. The E&C function is a globally integrated team within the second line of defense of our firm.
McKinsey's E&C program is thoughtfully designed, strategically structured, and empowered to function effectively in practice. It emphasizes a zero-tolerance approach to misconduct and incorporates clear policies, procedures, training, monitoring and consequence management to ensure seamless integration into our firm's operations and workforce. You will be a member of the Client and Regulatory Compliance pillar, which is responsible for instilling trust that our firm serves clients and communities with integrity and adheres to regulatory requirements.
This role reports to the Director of Life Sciences Compliance.
In this role, you will own specific aspects of identification and mitigation of the ethics and compliance-associated risks for delivery of projects in Life Sciences, working closely with client service teams that are engaged in day-to-day delivery. You will undertake E&C monitoring activities for Life Sciences projects, including compliance with contractual terms, guardrails, documentation retention requirements and any remediation plans.
You will support the development and maintenance of a targeted domain of policies, procedures and practices for identifying, managing and reporting on ethics and compliance risks associated with client service within the Life Sciences practice. This may include requirements associated with the applicable federal health care program requirements, other relevant healthcare regulations, and any professional standards applicable to Life Sciences projects.
Additionally, you will support strategic and operational initiatives to monitor deliverables throughout the lifecycle of projects, working closely with client service teams across Life Sciences projects. To accomplish this, you will review project materials such as project plans, interim materials and communication, and final materials to ensure that recommendations or advice are in line with Federal laws and regulations.
Another key responsibility will be to lead specific aspects of the day-to-day E&C monitoring activities in Life Sciences projects, including documentation retention requirements and any remediation plans.
As part of this role, you will support synthesis of data into insights to provide input into regular reporting for internal and external audiences on ethics and compliance matters associated with Life Sciences projects.
You will also provide certain content-based support on E&C related training and communications for client service teams within the Life Sciences practice. To support this, you will collect data and build reports on adherence to training and other requirements by client service teams within the Life Sciences practices.
You will liaise with E&C program teams to support cross-functional and senior stakeholder group (e.g., Legal, Risk) across our firm in a timely and efficient manner.
As a member of the Client and Regulatory Compliance team and E&C function, you will be expected to be a contributor and thought partner within the function, in addition to supporting key organizational, operational, or strategic initiatives, as relevant.
You will be required to engage in regionally focused initiatives, such as infusing our integrity agenda, under the direction and coordination of our regional E&C leaders, the purpose of which is to raise awareness of and further our firm's E&C program, and other agreed-upon supporting activities in your region or location.
Collaboration is a key aspect of this role. You will collaborate with a cross-functional and senior stakeholder group (e.g., Legal, Risk) across our firm in a timely and efficient manner.
Finally, you will play a critical role in sustaining and evolving our E&C program and upholding our commitment to integrity and lawful practices.
