Job Description |
The purpose of this position is to assist students in developing personal and academic skills needed to successfully complete their associate nursing degree. This is accomplished by providing instruction; assisting students in applying theory to clinical practice; facilitating remediation in the Nursing Skills Lab; providing individualized assistance for students who need support in achieving academic and/or clinical performance; track and analyze student progression through the nursing program using data to inform support strategies and interventions; coordinating nursing academic support services and products to achieve identified student outcomes; collaborating with faculty on all aspects of student support services; and serving as a liaison with the College's Student Support Services. Other duties include developing, coordinating, and revising nursing program success activities; and serving on committees; and attending department and division meetings.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Education |
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. |
Required Experience |
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a registered nurse, including 2 years of full-time clinical experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities |
- Must be licensed or have the ability to be licensed in Maryland
- Must have clinical expertise in foundations of nursing and medical/surgical nursing
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Proficiency in technology, including:
Microsoft Office
Electronic Health Records (
EHR)
Learning Management Systems (
LMS)
Ability to learn and use other educational and healthcare technologies as needed |
Preferred Qualifications |
- Masters degree in nursing
- Experience with the ATI student support system and Examsoft testing software, as well as low- and high-fidelity simulation.
- Previous experience as a nurse educator is strongly preferred.

General Weekly Work Schedule |
Generally, hours are scheduled Monday-Friday, daytime. Some evenings may be required to meet the needs of the nursing program. |
