Electrical Apprentice I SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking an Electrical Apprentice I that will assist with utility-scale projects, ensuring safety and compliance with electrical regulations while training under a journey-level electrician. Responsibilities include installing, repairing, and maintaining energy equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using various hand tools
- Safely use hand and power tools after proper training (drills, crimpers, cutters, etc.)
- Lift, position, and fasten objects
- Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools for electrical trades
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment
- Work under immediate and close supervision according to standard instructions and procedures
- Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- Pull DC and MV wire and perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Some construction and/or electrical experience
- Current driver's license
- Limited ability to read and interpret documents (safety regulations, blueprints, etc.
- Ability to work with power and non-powered hand tools
- Willingness to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions
- Ability to work safely with electrical equipment
- Knowledge of electrical systems
- Ability to handle materials weighing up to 200 lbs
- Strong teamwork orientation
- Positive attitude and professional customer service skills
- Active listening and effective communication skills
- Ability to frequently work in heat and other weather conditions
- Frequently crouch, kneel, squat, climb
- Repetitive hand, arm, leg movement
- *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
