Dartmouth College: School of Arts & Sciences: Social Sciences: Geography Location Hanover, NH Open Date Jul 08, 2025 Description The Department of Geography at Dartmouth College seeks a postdoctoral scholar to contribute to the development of a dynamic and inclusive research group focused on hydroclimate variability and change. Applicants should be interested in precipitation variability and change in observations compared to Earth system models as well as the influence of large-scale atmospheric circulation on precipitation. The postdoctoral researcher can focus on mean or extreme precipitation, analyze existing idealized simulations and design their own, and develop methods to distinguish between the dynamic and thermodynamic contributions to precipitation change. This position is full-time, non-remote, in-residence at Dartmouth in Hanover, NH, with start date as early as Fall 2025. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal up to two more years. The salary is $72,000 per year and is paid in monthly installments, with a 3% annual increase for each renewal year. Postdoctoral fellows receive benefits for the status "Research Associate B." Postdoctoral researchers are advised and hosted in the Geography Department. They are also supported by the Guarini School for Graduate and Advanced Studies, including their community initiatives.
