Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory to include performing analyses; setup, operation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment; and maintaining stock of supplies. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. A research technician position is available starting in July in the Lu lab at Georgia Institute of Technology. We are looking for exceptional applicants with a few years of research experience. Motivated recent college graduates will also be considered. The position will be focused on standard lab maintenance tasks related to C. elegans maintenance. There will be additional time to assist or focus on a research project of interest. Primary responsibilities are to make standard C. elegans and microbiology solutions and plates (NGM, S-basal, M9, LB, Superbroth, etc) and maintain C. elegans strains (freezing and thawing). In addition, there will also be opportunities for research on a number of research projects. Prior experience working with C. elegans, Drosophila and/or bacteria is preferred.
