- Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical areas.
- Assists in the design, construction, testing, and check-out of test equipment.
- Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
- Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
- Work with complex machines or computer systems.
- Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
- Performs calibration and alignment checks, adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
- Developing support for individual contributors.
- Works under general supervision.
- Work is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures.
- Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.
- Works under general supervision.
- Less detailed instructions are provided, and moderate peer review is needed.

- Perform detailed manufacturing of precision optical components and assemblies to verify conformance to specifications and drawings.
- Conduct surface quality assessments using industry standards (MIL-PRF-13830B).
- Measure critical dimensions using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions to validate manufacturing criteria.
- Document manufacturing results clearly and accurately.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to communicate quality issues and support root cause investigations.
- Assist in the development and improvement of manufacturing procedures and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Maintain manufacturing equipment and ensure calibration status is current.

Required Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in optical inspection.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in using optical and mechanical measurement tools and equipment.
- Minimum 4 years of experience working with very fragile and precise assemblies.

- Associate Degree in Engineering.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement methodologies.

- Good attention to detail and ability to perform precise and accurate inspections.
- Good understanding of optical principles and quality control processes.

- Able to communicate with engineers and other employees on the floor
