Position Overview

Position Summary

Under general supervision, the HR generalist is responsible for a wide-range of human resources functions including but not limited to recruiting, new hire onboarding, leave processing, employee training and development, and employee relations.


Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support ENMU's recruitment efforts, including reviewing job descriptions and advertisements, posting open positions, and screening resumes as needed
  • Oversee New Hire Orientation and the completion of new hire paperwork, ensuring accuracy
  • Initiate and prepare new hire appointment letters
  • Maintain and update employment opportunities on ENMU's website; place job advertisements on external platforms as necessary
  • Compute and supply affirmative action indicators to search committees
  • Advise and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and concerns
  • Oversee the leave reporting process and provide support and training to campus community
  • Represent ENMU at community events and job fairs to enhance recruitment efforts
  • Support the HR Supervisor with vendor visits and benefit fairs and training programs for the campus community
  • Provide support in managing phone inquiries, greeting visitors, and overseeing the HR inbox as needed
  • Generate reports for internal departments and state agencies
  • Assist with the processing and tracking of Family and Medical leave Act (FMLA) requests
  • Support employee relations investigations as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field is required
  • One-year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities is preferred.
  • Banner, NEOGOV, and WebExtender experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of integrated technology-based information systems
  • Independent learning skills and a strong motivation to succeed in helping ENMU achieve its goals and mission
  • Ability to understand and convey procedures and regulations established
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Strong organization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
  • Comfortable with public speaking

Working Conditions

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:

  • Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
