How you will make an impact

The Senior Automation Technician, Manufacturing-Second Shift (Hours for 2nd shift are 4:30pm - 1:00am) does the setup, troubleshooting and operation of manufacturing equipment and provides technical support throughout products lifecycle from product development through commercial production.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Completes equipment setups, conducting challenge part tests, resetting alarms and completes minor equipment repairs and adjustments ensuring equipment downtime is minimized.
  • Assemble and package autoinjectors when not supporting equipment.
  • Monitor controlled substances by established documentation.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot processes and machines.
  • Provide daily shift hand-off information including equipment performance.
  • Conduct experiments and investigations in collaboration with Engineers.
  • Provide guidance and training to the manufacturing team.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by offering suggestions and evaluating processes
  • Maintain records and assist with production assembly.
  • Assist in PM and maintenance activities.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, and/or trade school certification, specialized training/apprenticeship and/or equivalent experience in high volume manufacturing automation with minimum of 4 years' experience in automated manufacturing. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
  • Medical device or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with automation and packaging equipment.
  • HMI experience is necessary
  • Background in industrial controls and PLCs with working knowledge in robotics and/or mechanical components is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Good Documentation (GDP) and current Good Manufacturing (GMP) Practices required.
  • Critical understanding of the importance of documentation and data traceability.
  • Experience with operating and troubleshooting automated assembly and packaging equipment.
  • Engineering or Automation technician certification preferred.

The most likely base pay range for this position is $24 - $30 per hour. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual's exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
