Job Description

MISSION:

Drive workplace organization and cleanliness by coordinating and providing hands-on support to implement practical and sustainable 6S practices, both at the department and plant level. Engage and support leadership and operations team members in the implementation and sustainment of site 6S program.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provides hands-on support to drive the completion of 6S activities.
  • Engages operators and department leaders to determine best practices.
  • Coordinates and implements departmental and plant 6S changes.
  • Implements PCC 6S Standards throughout the plant.
  • Site subject matter expert on the 6S Standards.
  • Report areas of needed improvement to area leadership.
  • Utilize and maintain the PCC site success log for communication to senior leadership.
  • Drives workplace organization and cleanliness by teaching 6S skills to team and coaching supervisors on best practices.
  • Train, manage, maintain, and ensure compliance to 6S standards and audit system.
  • Facilitate group sessions for 6S training and 6S improvement workshops as needed.
  • Prepare and communicate audit results to operational teammates.
  • Partner safety initiatives, adheres to all safety rules and demonstrates safe work practices.
  • May require forklift certification.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-4 years of 5S or 6S application experience.
  • 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, listening and verbal).
  • Ability to make thorough and objective assessments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
  • Effectively communicates well with all levels of the organization.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task and work independently.
  • Must be able to spend most hours of workday walking and standing on manufacturing floor; conditions may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes and other elements for extended periods of time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to frequently lift/push/pull to move objects up to 35lbs without assistance, see, stand, walk, read, and write. Must be able to regularly type, use hands to manipulate objects, bend/stoop, and climb ladders and stairs.
