The Role:

The Manager, Data Governance will be responsible for leading and overseeing CPI's data governance program. This role will be instrumental in developing and executing strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure data is effectively managed, securely maintained, and aligned with applicable regulations and evolving business requirements. The individual will collaborate closely with the Technology team to scope, refine, and prioritize system enhancements that support and strengthen CPI's data governance standards and processes.

What You Get To Do Everyday:

  • Spearhead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance framework, including standardized definitions, approval workflows, documentation, and lifecycle management, from creation through archival or deletion.
  • Lead and execute complex, enterprise-wide data governance initiatives, ensuring timely delivery with overarching organizational objectives.
  • Maintain and enhance CPI's data quality by working closely with data owners to classify and tier data, define quality rules, and ensure accuracy andconsistency across the business.
  • Design and optimize data flows across systems, collaborating with engineering to ensure a scalable, high-integrity data architecture and resolving pipeline bottlenecks or integration issues as they arise.
  • Drive data quality across the organization by establishing standards, monitoring key metrics, conducting audits, and leading remediation efforts to ensure data is accurate, complete, consistent, and reliable.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration, acting as a central point of contact between Technology Services, Sales, Marketing, and other departments to align priorities, resolve data issues, and drive adoption of best practices.
  • Promote a culture of data literacy and accountability through employee education, documentation, and ongoing stakeholder engagement, ensuring teams understand and uphold governance standards.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor team members in functional areas.
  • Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
  • Perform other position-related duties as assigned.

You Need to Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, business, risk management, technology services, or other related fields, or equivalent work experience
  • Five years or more of work experience leading projects or teams focused on data governance, data management, or operational reporting
  • Technical skills - knowledge of data management principles & data governance frameworks
  • Project management skills - experience in planning, organizing, and managing projects related to data governance
  • Regulatory knowledge - understanding of relevant data privacy regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Knowledge of GenAI tools (e.g, Copilot)
  • Exceptional communication skills to articulate goals, progress, and challenges to diverse audiences
  • Ability to manage relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and collaboration
  • Ability to develop budgets, manage costs, and assess financial performance against objectives
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, stay organized, and maintain attention to detail
  • Results-driven, focusing on delivering tangible results and achieving objectives within scope, budget, and timeline
  • Excellent teambuilding skills with the ability to attract, develop, and retain a high-performing team
  • Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to delegate responsibilities and authority effectively and to encourage individuals to decide how they will accomplish their goals and resolve issues
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, negotiation, writing, speaking, and listening skills
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking ability
What We Would Like to See:
  • Experience analyzing data and using dashboarding tools (e.g, PowerBI) or scripting languages (e.g, Python)
  • Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica)
