Position Summary: |
The Assistant Director of Employer Relations and Programs is a foundational support of the employer relations team who assists with creating opportunities for students that will contribute to career success.

Position Responsibilities: |
- Work collaboratively with the Associate Director and the unit leadership team to foster a comprehensive and integrated approach to career development, with attention to the roles employers and alumni employers play in the process
- Support and execute on comprehensive career readiness programs, including pre- and post-event logistical planning and management
- Assist employers in posting opportunities for students, which can include assistance with creating an account in Symplicity, guidance on crafting a job description, and compiling resume books; approve postings in Symplicity according to NACE best practices for student employment
- In partnership with the career advising team, oversee and improve upon the SGC Ambassador student employment program
- Originate ideas for how to develop relationships with potential employers that would directly involve them in industry CAPS-focused career programming with students
- Responsible for the follow-up survey data collection from both students and employers for ER events; response rates for each determined by the supervisor
- Communicate with peers at other institutions in similar roles to discuss new trends and best practices in student-to-employer/alumni programming
- Manage student organization relationships and ensure seamless workflow for MOU and event processes; Ensure that student club information on the SGC website, CAPS communities, is always current
- Act as administrator for virtual mentoring platform (PeopleGrove)
- Execute on strategies to develop cohorts of YU alumni by industry and/or employer to strengthen the SGC brand with all alumni who are able to recruit students
- Other related duties as assigned

Experience & Education Background: |
- Minimum of three years combined professional experience in project management, communications, and technical experience required
- Some background in Higher Education is strongly preferred, as well as demonstrable experience in working with college-aged populations
- Experience with developing and scaling programs is required
- Master's degree preferred
- Strong organizational work skills, defining tasks, prioritizing assignments, and following through on all projects independently; can articulate challenges and proposed solutions with ease
- Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
- Ability to deal with a university population at all levels
- Carry out any other related duties as necessary in keeping with the requirements and qualifications of the job, including occasional nights and weekends as required to support programming

Skills & Competencies: |
- Strong customer focus (ability to listen attentively to students and alumni and to understand and respond positively to their requests)
- Experience designing and delivering complex programs, including evaluating and measuring program effectiveness and outcomes required
- Ability to work effectively in teams and to develop and sustain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, employers, volunteers, and community members
- Strong project management skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and ability to meet deadlines
- Relational database (CRM) system experience
- High level of proficiency with web-based resources, spreadsheets, and presentation software required (MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- Proven ability to work independently and as a multi-team player and to contribute to a collaborative environment with experience in oversight and project management
- An entrepreneurial orientation, proven track record of taking initiative and making things happen (i.e. self-starter)
- Ability to work under pressure, with the flexibility to respond to changing priorities and fluctuating workloads

$75,000 - $75,000 |
