Job Details

The Financial Analyst II will be responsible for various financial analyses for MWI Animal Health operations as well as generates revenue and investment reports for the business unit functions. Provides financial reporting to management to ensure revenues and expenses are monitored and operational issues relative to finance are highlighted and addressed.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Manager & Director in the preparation of monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-term financial plans, including variance analysis and executive summary commentary.

  • Assists in the build and maintenance of robust financial models, employing discounted cash flow (DCF), risk assessment simulations, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, NPV, IRR, ROI, and other valuation techniques for forecasting and investment appraisal.

  • Applies data analytics to large, complex data sets to extract actionable insights; works collaboratively with Manager & Director to synthesize and present findings to leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Maintains effective communication with key stakeholders and business partners to ensure financial plans and analyses are accurate, complete, and timely.

  • Works collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams and within matrix organizations to achieve business objectives.

  • Analyzes operating income components and reports on key business drivers and performance trends.

  • Contributes to continuous process improvement in financial planning and reporting activities.

  • Supports generation of monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range plans to share with Business Leads and partners.

  • Partners with business segment teams to gather and compile data needed for analyses, identify trends, and address management requests.

  • Prepares ad hoc analysis reports as needed and performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor's Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of 2+ years of directly related finance experience (preferred).

Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrates strong understanding of financial planning and analysis (FP&A), forecasting, and reporting techniques and processes.

  • Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint; working knowledge of think-cell, SAP, Hyperion Essbase, SQL, and other data warehouse or business intelligence tools.

  • Skilled in financial modeling and data analysis techniques, including valuation, profitability and large data set analysis.

  • Curious mindset - desires to understand and articulate operational impacts on financial outcomes.

  • Communicates effectively in written and verbal formats; clearly and concisely presents complex findings to diverse audiences.

  • Builds and nurtures collaborative relationships across functions and levels within the organization, facilitating cross-functional teamwork and alignment. Team player.

  • Demonstrates strong business acumen, organizational skills, willingness to learn and attention to detail.

  • Works collaboratively and effectively in a remote work environment.
