- Effectively implement and maintain a site-wide QHES Management System to ensure process excellence while achieving Bostik Industrial Adhesives business objectives.
- Own the comprehensive list Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety standards and regulations applicable to the Ringwood, and Elk Grove Village, IL locations. Ensures site compliance through policy development, training, and adherence to the management systems.
- Drive continuous improvement in Quality, Environmental performance, and the promotion of employee Health and Safety.
To minimize risk inherent to the company's operations and products.
- Monitor site QHES performance by developing, monitoring, and communicating relevant kpi.

Activities |
- Establish a cost effective, efficient, and integrated QHES management system including policies, procedures, and work instructions compliant with outside certifications and internal quality standards that will contribute to the achievement of business objectives.
- Ensure that plant operations meet all minimum legislative requirements relating to QEHS as set out in U.S. and relevant international law and statutory regulations. Ensure that the business prepares for forthcoming changes in a timely manner.
- Actively promote QEHS system awareness throughout the site. Broadly share QEHS initiatives, projects, and kpi performance. Communicate and train site-wide on standards and procedures and use an internal auditing program to monitor program compliance.
- Safeguard the Company's accredited quality and environmental certifications through audit, training, and review with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
- Lead the site's local internal audits; act as principal during the site's response to corporate internal audits; and represent the Company during external audits. Organize and lead the site's efforts to resolve audit findings and recommendations. Program audits include but are not limited to:
- Arkema Integrated Management System (AIMS)
- ISO 9001
- State and Federal Safety and Environmental regulations including Title V Air Permitting, RCRA, PSM, OSHA Responsible Care Management System (RCMS)
- Internal GMP program
- Lead Management Review of the site's QHES system
- Analyze key performance indicators to identify and celebrate performance improvement and identify focus areas for continuous improvement initiatives
- Evaluate the reach and effectiveness of reports shared daily, weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly.
- Organize and lead a comprehensive Management Review meeting at least annually
- Manage and facilitate responses to customer and vendor complaints.
- Ensure control of documented information required by the management system (distribution, maintenance, storage, retrieval, and retention).
- Manage the identified direct reporting staff to ensure the QEHS system functions as designed and environmental compliance is achieved.

Context and environment |
- The successful candidate must be capable of:
- identifying, assessing, prioritizing, and mitigating risk related to QHES compliance.
- providing clear QHES leadership and vision for the site and navigate in a highly complex matrixed organization.
- effectively communicating in management meetings, plant meetings, and in training sessions.
- interacting with a broad audience from executive management to shop floor operators to influence buy-in, support, and participation in QHES initiatives.
- juggling multiple projects, often on short or changing timelines.
- managing prioritization and driving completion of action plans
- Must have a technical background to understand the specific site operations and QHES challenges, likely gained by working in a similar industry and/or through schooling.
- Company required travel up to 10% annually.

Accountabilities |
- Educate, facilitate, and support the organization in implementation of a Continuous Improvement Culture that has a never-ending focus on improving business results.
- Actively identify, communicate and implement improvement initiatives in EHS.
- Ensure compliance with IEPA Title V regs, be the point of contact for the IEPA, Track emissions, develop compliance calendars, respond to Air Violations, compile TRI, Tier II reports and submit in a timely manner.
- Ensure hazardous waste is handled according to local regulations. Monitor tank levels and 90-day inventories, schedule waste shipments and develop Haz. Waste profiles for disposal.
- Ensure energy reports are compiled and accurate for REED submittals.

Qualifications / experience required |
- Educated to degree level and professionally trained in QEHS systems.
- A minimum of eight years QEHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of QEHS systems and use as a tool to drive continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations.
- Organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential with excellent communication skills a prerequisite.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and project management skills.
