Job Purpose

Engineering technicians are responsible for assisting engineers and working alongside fellow technicians in the development of prototype bevel & parallel axis gearing.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

*Perform duties listed below within Dana Safety Guidelines.
*Operate fork trucks, pallet jacks, crane hoists, & other material handling devices - internal certification required.
*Drive lab transport vehicles to move tooling/part/material in the Ohio, Michigan, & Indiana tri-state area.
*Set up & operate lab processing equipment & machinery.
*Use lab equipment & machinery to develop drivetrain gearing that meets customer requirements, while following internal processing & design guidelines.
*Work with Gear Engineering team to ensure proper tooling setup & accurate data collection is conducted.
*Clean tooling & workpieces before, during & after processing.
*Handle tooling & workpieces in a delicate manner.
*Contribute to ongoing project & process improvements.
*Maintain inventory lists to track tooling & workpiece location & movement.
*Organize work area, tooling, & incoming / outgoing material in a tidy manner.

Qualifications & Skills Required:
*High school diploma or GED minimum with relevant work experience.
*Familiar with GED tolerancing on part and tooling prints.
*Excellent mechanical aptitude & the knowledge to use basic hand tools & measuring devices.
*Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office (Outlook Email, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
*Self-motivated & capable of performing duties with minimal supervision.
*Continuous communication of progress updates with other team members & management.
*Ability to travel domestically & internationally for Dana manufacturing & assembly support.
*Availability to work overtime during weekdays & weekends.
*Have valid driver's license & ability to pass requirements for a DOT medical card to drive lab transport vehicles.
*Pass internal fork truck test for certification (written & practical exam).
*Reliable attendance record.
*Ability to lift up to 35 lbs repetitively & stand for approximately 90% of the time.
