Under direct supervision of the physician, prepares patients, assembles and operates hemodynamic and electrophysiologic equipment during interventional and diagnostic procedures. Continuously monitors* vital signs, EKG and pressure recordings. Analyzes intracardiac electrogram and reports results. Performs direct and indirect patient care. Maintains appropriate documentation. Performs other duties as related to the daily operation of the cardiac electrophysiology laboratory. Responsibilities: *Monitor patients during cardiac catheterization procedures, evaluating blood pressure, EKG, and hemodynamic data; promptly report abnormalities to the attending physician. *Accurately document procedural findings before, during, and after catheterization per established unit protocols. *Set up and balance hemodynamic transducers using sterile technique prior to each case. *Maintain comprehensive procedural records including vitals, medications, equipment used, and interventions performed. *Support room turnover between cases and anticipate supply needs to ensure timely procedural starts. *Identify and report equipment malfunctions or operational issues to supervisor immediately. *Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. Requirements: *High school diploma or GED required AND one of the following: oBachelor's degree in a biological science or a clinical health-related field oAt least one year of cardiovascular experience, including EKG interpretation and knowledge of cardiac anatomy *Ability to perform hemodynamic / electrophysiologic monitoring and calculation preferred *RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) and/or RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) and/or IBHRE (International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners) certification preferred at hire or within 2 yrs of employment *BLS Shift: Monday to Friday 0700A - 0530P Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department.
