Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department. Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees, and four (4) months for part-time employees who works more than 3/5 of the normal workweek. Probationary period will not apply to shift changes. Under the direction of the supervising technologist, this position is responsible for: transporting patients, helping patients on and off the x-ray table, assisting patients gowning, generating flash cards, assisting radiologist during fluoroscopy procedures, etc. These tasks and other related tasks are those that are also included in technologists job description but do not require a license from NYS. RESPONSIBILITIES: Transporting patients to and from the waiting areas to imaging exam rooms. Monitor patients when necessary. Assist technologist or other radiology staff to move patients onto and off of the x-ray exam table. Data-entry into various radiology computerized information systems. Prepare necessary paper work, flash card printing, tracking, scheduling, etc. Processing of CR cassettes Maintain proper inventory of supplies in exam rooms. Communicate with front desk, nursing staff, clerical staff to minimize patient waiting and ensure accuracy of information. Other related assigned tasks. REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent Computer literacy. Knowledge of CD Burner/Reader Must understand and demonstrate special care for elderly patients as they may be unsteady on their feet and the implications of osteoporosis. Must understand and demonstrate special care for children and infants. These patients must be constantly monitored for safety and protection.
