Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach in providing leadership for a NCAA Division I men's soccer program. Assists with all aspects of the men's soccer program and is integral to the day-to-day administrative responsibilities, daily team training, evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes, academic monitoring, and skill development. This position must work within UNCW, CAA, and NCAA guidelines to provide student-athletes an exceptional collegiate experience while competing for championships.

  • Works with the goalkeepers to teach the mental and physical aspects of the game.


  • Assist goalkeepers with skill development and implement team strategies
  • Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the department and university as well as the rules and regulations of the CAA and NCAA
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalency

* Must be highly dependable, flexible, and available to work evenings and weekends

* Possess excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public

* Strong problem solving skills

* Ability to stand for extended periods of time both indoors and outdoors

* Work effectively as a team member

* Previous customer service experience preferred

Please note, this is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31-day break from employment.
