Position Summary: The Director, Global HR/IT Applications is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Human Resources Information System (Workday) with a focus on optimizing Workday (WD) functionality. This role ensures the HRIS supports the organization's business objectives, enhances user experience, and drives data integrity and security. The Director will be responsible for managing a small team and successful delivery of HR IT initiatives/projects from requirements through enhancement design, testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), release and sustainment. Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operational support of the system, building and maintaining the application roadmap, budget management, vendor management and demand management (capture, funnel, groom & prioritize) in alignment with business goals and user experience. This role requires demonstrated thought leader-level abilities as a leader to support, maintain, manage, and drive our evolving Workday application and supporting eco-system which supports Human Resources, Finance, Operations, and IT business functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Business Relationship management across Executive Leadership Team
- Understanding and solving of business and technology challenges related to the implementation and support of Workday, Finance, and Operations
- Leverages HRIS and Workday acumen to understand underlying business needs, including how the business function operations and how technology will help streamline organizational needs
- Ability to design, develop, and evolve the Workday platform based upon business needs
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Workday system, monitor team performance, motivate, mentor, coach, and grow team member skills.
- Create and foster an inspiring team environment with open communications.
- Maintain solid working relationships with our business partners while aligning and setting clear team goals.
- Delegate team tasks and set and commit to operational deadlines.
- Anticipate training needs and align staff to personal development plans.
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements, then design, configure and deploy the most efficient and effective processes and solutions to address complex operational challenges.
System Management
- Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of WD modules including HCM, Benefits, Reporting, and Talent Management.
- Plan and execute HRIS roadmap, projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
- Identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements and coordinate with business units for integrated solutions.
- Lead upgrades, enhancements, testing, validation, and systems performance as well as analyze software releases to assess impact of new features.
- Project manage and own future build outs of Workday functionality. Work with WD team on defining requirements, configuring solutions, managing testing and validation, documenting process change and training users on new processes and tools.
Data Integrity & Security
- Implement and maintain robust data governance strategies, including customized data validation, cleansing, and data enrichment practices.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure alignment with organizational security standards such as GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant standards.
- Monitor system usage and perform regular security assessments to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
- Provide security awareness communications for WD users to ensure they understand and comply with data protection protocols and access.
- Establish and manage a data breach response plan in the event of a security incident.
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and deliver regular and ad-hoc reports to stakeholders. Create dashboards, charts, and graphs to communicate with stakeholders and custom reports to meet the specific needs of business units.
- Utilize analytics to provide insights and support decision-making. Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs, and procedures.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and provide necessary data for audits and reviews.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify, manage, and implement opportunities for process improvements within HR/IT systems and programs.
- Stay informed of industry best practices and emerging technologies in HR/IT.
- Assess and improve reporting processes. Implement best practices for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Vendor Management
- Track vendors spend against allocated HRIS budget.
- Work closely with vendors and external partners to resolve system-related issues and implement solutions.
- Regularly evaluate vendor performance against service level agreements. Ensure vendor support aligns with project timelines and operational requirements.
- Oversee contracts and service agreements with WD and other third-party vendors. Ensure terms are met and renewals are timely.

- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 5-10 years related experience and/or training.
- College Level Mathematical Skills
- Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.
- Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.
- High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions that may be provided in various forms.

- Leading, designing, executing, and supporting the configuration and troubleshooting of business processes in, HCM, Payroll, Advanced compensation, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, and/or Talent Management.
- Experience leading the development, configuration, maintenance, testing, implementation, and support of new projects, enhancements, and interfaces.
- Workday HCM certification(s) or progress toward.
- SHRM certification or progress toward.
