Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $63400 - $80984. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about Global Production Planning? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Supply and Logistics function. As a Buyer, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.

This position is responsible for buying and planning activities for multiple product lines. The position located at the Franklin, Wisconsin facility, assists with our drop shipment program to safely deliver quality products on time to our customers. This position supports buying for the Feeder Automation Value Streams including Intellirupter, Scadamate and Switch Controls. You will work with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery of required materials. You will join a team of planning and purchasing professionals committed to the success of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand a specific set of commodities required for certain production lines and work with suppliers to acquire the needed materials in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
• Make adjustment based on supplier performance and constantly changing business need.
• Execute procurement transactions including purchase orders, blanket releases, reschedules/changes and expediting for production materials.
• Create purchase orders and perform reschedules for production items.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with both production and non-production teams to ensure that materials and production supplies are provided in a timely manner. .
• Track purchases, monitor vendor quality and maintain records of supplier performance and information.
• Provide recommendations to internal teams, considering business needs and supplier abilities to determine the next steps needed to acquire essential commodities.
• Process dispositions on non-confirming material reports and execute returns to suppliers.
• Function as the primary point of contact with suppliers, working closely with them to address timing and quality issues.
• Coordinate the implementation of new and revised purchased items with Production Planning, assuring supplier deliveries meet production schedules and cutovers.
• Analyze production scheduling data and information from suppliers to track key metrics, such as expense saving, past dues, dual sourcing and inventory reductions. Escalate issues to leaders as they arise. .
• Commitment to provide outstanding service to internal customers at S&C and to deal with suppliers in accordance with S&C's Guiding Principles.
• Expedite purchase orders from suppliers as required.
• Setup item attributes related to purchasing the item.
• Work with Production Planning, Global Sourcing and Suppliers on problem-solving activities. Participate in A3 problem-solving activities as needed.
• Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact the availability or cost of materials, proactively recommending changes to procurement strategies.
• Assist in scheduling sales orders for drop shipments.
• Assist in coordinating the drop shipment program with key suppliers.
• Create purchase requisitions.

What you'll Need To Succeed:

Job Requirements (To select this job at a minimum you must have the following):

• Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2 to 3 years of demonstrated experience working in purchasing or a related role in the manufacturing industry.
• ERP/MRP User (Oracle preferred or applicable experience).
• Good understanding of procurement processes including requisitioning, purchasing and supplier management.
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles, including inventory management, demand forecasting and logistics.
• Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, compliance standards and ethical sourcing practices.
• Good negotiation skills with the ability to understand business priorities and pursue beneficial outcomes in discussions with suppliers.
• Ability to maintain accurate records-must have strong attention to detail.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel (Advanced), Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.
• Ability to work independently in a service-oriented environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
• Demonstrated excellent organizational and analytical capabilities.
• Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with customers and at all levels of the organization.
• Basic understanding of order modifiers and other item purchasing attributes.
• Basic understanding of routings and bills of material.

Preferred

• Experience with Power BI.
• Demonstrated experience working in the electrical manufacturing industry.
• Oracle ERP experience preferred.

• Lifting: Occasional lifting of supplies weighing from 5 to 20 pounds and some operation of hand carts when preparing for course delivery

• Carrying: Occasional carrying of light objects
• Pushing: Infrequent pushing of objects
• Observation/Eyesight: Frequently required to observe details at close range including depth perception, peripheral vision and the ability to differentiate between colors
