Cyber Security Engineer - SymQuest

SymQuest, a Division of Konica Minolta, currently has an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer!

The Cyber Security Engineer will work closely with SymQuest clients to manage and maintain their security posture, hardware, and software, while also identifying risks to the business and driving solutions ranging from education and awareness to the adoption of new/existing policies, standards, processes, controls and technologies. They will perform and provide assessment report reviews, vulnerability reviews, policy reviews, firewall and security solutions administration and management and be a point of interface between the SymQuest security team and the client. They will be a point of escalation for other internal teams.

• Evaluate security solutions and monitor various Security blogs, alerts and notifications, RSS feeds and forums to keep abreast of the latest security news, attacks, threats, vulnerabilities and exploits
• Review and analyze data and network traffic from numerous security tools such as FortiAnalyzer, security device logs, and vulnerability management solutions
• Contribute to incident response, maintaining relevant documentation and communication with key stakeholders.
• Coordinate with third-party security vendors to assess new security technologies and ensure ongoing alignment with industry best practices and organizational security standards
• Review, create or document standard operating procedures, recommendations, and resource guides as needed
• Configure and install security solutions
• Facilitate and perform report review, solution review, and discussion with clients based on security services programs
• Monitor and execute to security services program entitlements and SLA
• Support sales and marketing
• Willingness to pursue and obtain Fortinet and other certifications as required

• 3+ years of professional experience in security services, including work in information security, networking and IT infrastructure, and security appliance configuration in enterprise environments with a background in the following:

  • In-depth knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Mac OS X and Linux a plus)

  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking and routing protocols

  • Network security experience including firewall, IDS and IPS

  • Understanding of a variety of security tools including firewall logs, intrusion detection systems, windows logs, event management, packet capture, packet sniffing technology.

  • Experience with reviewing raw log files, data correlation, and analysis (i.e. firewall, network flow, IDS, system logs)

  • Knowledge of enterprise systems and infrastructure

  • Experience with a scripting language such as Perl, Ruby, Python, and BASH a plus

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or relevant industry experience

• Industry standard security and compliance certifications (CISSP, GSEC, GCIH, CySA+, Security+, FCP, FCSS, etc) are a plus.

• Memberships and participation in relevant professional associations.

• Ability to coordinate, work with and gain the trust of business stakeholders, technical resources, and third-party vendors.
• Able to work under pressure in time sensitive situations.
• Strong attention to detail combined with an ability to accurately record full documentation.
• Knowledge of security best practices and organizational security standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with business representatives in explaining impacts and strategies and where necessary, in layman's terms.
