* Temporary staff employees are ineligible to receive benefits (leave, health coverage, State service credit, etc.). They are, however, covered by Worker's Compensation provisions.
However, any non-permanent employee hired to work 30 or more hours per week for three months or more (cumulative of all positions, and not designated as variable hour worker), must be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, within 30 days of their eligibility. Any non-permanent employee hired to work less than 30 hours per week (cumulative of all positions or designated as variable hour worker - i.e. student workers) are measured during designated measurement periods. If they average 30 or more hours per week over a designated measurement period, they will be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan and will be notified of instructions.

Pay Rate $28.00 - $29.00 per hour
Minimum Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • One year of experience related to project coordination, government affairs in higher education, or administrative support; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Workspace.
  • Experience in government and governing body protocol.
  • Excellent communication skills, including editing and drafting of communications.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, warm personal style, and a customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day coordination and administrative support to the team, including: tracking and reporting on projects; coordinating and distributing communications and other materials; preparing, editing, and maintaining reports and meeting notes as requested; scheduling, coordinating, and preparing materials for in-person and virtual meetings, conference calls, and events.
  • Work with the department to establish internal project management procedures and policies.
  • Coordinate and execute events with high-profile internal and external constituents.
  • Manage and coordinate multiple calendars, including scheduling meetings and appointments with internal and external leaders.
  • Make travel arrangements involving high-ranking external public and corporate officials and internal Chancellor and Cabinet-level officials.
  • Manage departmental budget.
  • Direct access to, or responsibility for, cash and credit card information, University property disbursements or receipts, and extensive authority for committing the financial resources of the University.
  • Manage contact information by updating records and tracking communications.
  • Direct responsibility for the secure handling of sensitive and/or confidential information.
  • Completes various other administrative tasks as assigned.
