What you'll do

Docusign is looking for a Sr. Release Manager that will facilitate planning and deployments to production on key initiatives for our internal users. In this role they will lead and motivate our teams by introducing efficient processes, driving innovative and measurable solutions to maximize efficiency for team members, and working in unison with our product management and engineering teams to create the best experiences for our internal customers.

The Sr. Release Manager will work with teams on programs from initiation through delivery into production, organizing the cross-functional activities, ensuring management of interdependencies and managing risks proactively to drive completion of the release. Duties and tasks are varied, needing independent judgment so the person needs to be fully competent in the area of technical program management expertise.

In order to be successful in this role, you possess a strong attention to detail, have a reputation as someone who focuses on the outcome, brings simplified solutions to complex problems in a technical environment, and does what they say they will do. You must be comfortable operating in a fluid, agile, and team-oriented environment; bringing order to chaos.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Release Management.

Responsibility

  • Drive cross-functional enterprise-level Release Programs to ensure software releases are on time, with zero downtime and high quality

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate the production deployments across various SaaS and Homegrown systems that include (but not limited to) Salesforce, Conga, Oracle/OIC, Zuora, Gainsight, Certinia, Mulesoft, Snowflake, etc

  • Work hand-in-hand with multiple cross-functional technical and product teams creating detailed Release plans and execute them consistently with minimal downtime

  • Perform risk assessment on all Change Requests ensuring there is no conflict between the projects/programs and avoid jeopardizing the whole release

  • Execute releases ensuring zero interruption to the business operations, proactively assess potential issues, mitigate them, and provide continuous release updates to the entire DTS organization

  • Assess impact of any emergency changes, ensure proper documentation is logged including a roll-back plan and provide support to deploy them in a timely manner ensuring zero impact to the Business operations

  • Ensure required data is collected in the Program Intake sheet to appropriately plan releases, make decisions for mitigating risks and resolving potential issues

  • Represent ERM in the Delivery Commit for all enterprise-level programs and provide feedback/best practices for a smooth production deployment

  • Represent ERM in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to assess the upstream/downstream impact of changes and ensure all kinds of testing were performed before moving the code into production

  • Work with all the cross-functional teams to understand the frequency of ongoing system upgrades, their potential impact and manage its communication around the DTS org notifying all the stakeholders in a timely manner

  • Set up a new process and strategy for Enterprise Release Management, continue to make improvements and ensure all teams adhere to the process/best practices

  • Utilize internal tools and agile mindset to create a collaborative environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, mastery, innovation and continues to streamline the processes

  • Develop trusted relationships with key technology, functional leaders and stakeholders to drive focus on the strategic program objectives and optimize program release delivery This includes supporting and holding resources accountable for their responsibilities within the program

  • Manage the communication of various system upgrades and release downtimes within DTS

  • Seek to continuously grow by proactively seeking and embracing constructive feedback

  • Provide feedback to colleagues to encourage an open and collaborative culture

  • Support the Environment Lead on environment related issues that come up during PST hours


Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • 8+ years as a Technical Program Manager for large-scale enterprise applications (e.g., Oracle ERP, SFDC, Snowflake)

  • Experience leading complex infrastructure and environment management

  • Experience defining processes for environment usage in CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience in testing processes and defect management

  • Experience with SDLC, testing concepts, methodologies (waterfall, agile), metrics, automated testing frameworks, and industry testing standards

  • Experience with JIRA and testing tools (e.g., Git, Postman)

Preferred

  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and partnerships

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Comfortable interacting with senior leaders and team members

  • Ability to maintain a broad perspective and ensure delivery aligns with objectives

  • Skilled at managing ambiguity in fast-paced and evolving environments

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Proven success in large-scale enterprise system implementations

  • Experienced in navigating uncertainty to achieve final deliverables

  • Solid technical understanding and the ability to grasp technical issues and risks

  • Proficient in planning and translating roadmap milestones into actionable execution plans

  • Exceptional communication skills and experience providing regular updates to senior management, proactively addressing potential issues, and enhancing stakeholder trust throughout program or project execution


Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $140,000.00 - $225,075.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for the following:

  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
  • Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
