Responsibilities

This position is responsible for packing blood and blood products and arranges for transportation and distribution of the product. This position is also responsible for maintaining and controlling inventories of all products.

Responsibilities include:

    Receives orders and packs blood and blood products.
  • Coordinates all products ensuring they reach their proper destination.
  • Follows-up on any orders from the transportation department and hospital services.
  • Places blood products in creates and cleaning up after blood spills.
  • Maintains complete inventory of blood and blood products and supplies by taking physical inventory daily.
  • Assists with maintaining staffing levels by staying on shift until relieved and performs assigned overtime as required.
  • Monitors and follows protocols on alarm system and reads and follows all protocols, guidelines, practices, procedures and regulations.
  • Perform a variety of clerical tasks including sorting the packing slips and organizing the paperwork.


Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Experience in inventory/distribution.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Attention to detail in all work processes.
  • Interpersonal skills to handle a variety of issues and situations. Position requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy in dealing with a variety of staff.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally..
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and customers in a helpful, courteous and friendly manner while demonstrating sensitivity to and respect for diverse populations.
  • Ability to plan and organize job tasks or resources in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to be responsive and available to management in order to address issues and concerns as they arise.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

All salaries are pursuant to Local 1199 Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Rate: $22.3061 Per Hour
